Each of our classes is structured to include what we feel are the most important lessons for a young child. Parents know that every child is different and has different needs, different attention spans, different activity levels. The best part about kid’s jiu-jitsu classes is that it is completely suited to what your individual child needs while staying focused on our core fundamentals.
These lessons are something that you will see start to be applied in your child’s everyday life. From other competitive sports to school to behavior at home, your child will carry the lessons they learn from jiu-jitsu with them through the rest of their lives.
As a family-owned and operated business, each of our team has something different to offer at every class. Classes are lead by either Coach Scott, Coach Gina, or even our newest and youngest coach, Coach Stewart, another kid’s class student. We like for our students to learn how to interact both with each other and different coaching styles in a safe, controlled environment that promotes respect and, above all, fun.
We start with the most fundamental of the fundamentals. Here we start and focus on body movements and control. From being able to stand up to following simple directions. We start with warm-ups that will be applied during class.
The next step is control over another person without sacrificing control over ourself. Here is where the kids start to learn the fundamentals of grappling in a relatively safe and fun environment.
Then the rubber really starts to hit the road for the kids. Here, we start healthy competitive work with big doses of added resistance begin to become the focus. Our self defense work starts to take real shape, and gets pressure tested in this class.
